Jamovi Setup Guide
Install the versions linked on this page. Do not download Jamovi from the official site. The Randomize module is built for a specific Jamovi version. With a different version, the module may fail to load or may not work correctly.
Step 1: Install Jamovi (version 2.7.38)
Download the installer for your computer, then open it and follow the prompts.
- Mac users
- Windows users: Jamovi 2.7.38 installer
Not sure which Mac you have? Click the Apple menu (top-left corner) → About This Mac. If it says Chip: Apple M followed by any number (M1, M2, … M5, …), use the Apple Silicon link. If it says Processor: Intel, use the Intel link. Most Macs from 2021 onward are Apple Silicon.
Step 2: Download the Randomize Module (for Jamovi 2.7.38)
The Randomize module is a custom Jamovi module built for MATH 115. Download the file for your computer and note where it saves (usually your Downloads folder).

- Windows users: Randomize module
Step 3: Add the Module to Jamovi
- Open Jamovi.
- Click the Modules button (the large + in the top-right corner).
- Choose jamovi library, then open the Sideload section (up-arrow icon).
- Select the
Randomizefile you downloaded in Step 2. - Randomize now appears in the Analyses ribbon. (You can delete the downloaded file afterward.)
Sideloaded modules only work in the Jamovi desktop app. Jamovi Cloud, which runs in the browser, cannot load them.
