Chapter 7:  Sampling Distributions

Today we will look at a sampling distribution of a sample mean.  We will first see how the binomial distribution for a count can be converted so that we are looking at a proportion.  We will then see how a normal distribution for a measurement can be converted to look at the mean of measurements.  We will also learn what the Central Limit Theorem is and why that is important in the work we do in the future.

Homework

• Read Chapter 7
• Do 5, 6, 9, and 10 in chapter 7.  Also do 1, 4, and 5 on page 36 of the supplement.
• Do  16, 18 - 21, 28, 32, 33, 56 - 60 in chapter 7.
