Chapter 6: Probability Distributions
We
will learn what a probability distribution is and take a close look at
some discrete distributions. We will also introduce normal
distributions. We will learn what these distributions look like, some
of their properties, and how to determine areas underneath them.
We will also look at how to use our calculators to find
area under these
curves.
We will also learn to find probabilities when
each observation has two possible outcomes. These are called
binomial probabilities. We will
learn what a binomial distribution is, how to calculated a probability
from a binomial distribution by hand and on a calculator. We will
also look at the normal approximation to the binomial.
