Today we will look at the material in chapter 1, Statistics: The Art and Science of Learning from Data.  This chapter gives an overview of what statistics is all about.  I will give examples of how statistics can be used effectively and well as inaccurately.  We will also complete a survey that will give us a data set to work with in or lab as well as class.

Assignment:

Read Chapter 1
Do exercises 2, 7, 11, 12, 13, 25, 27, 30, 31 and 32 in chapter 1.
