If you are interested in math competitions, consider

The Michigan Autumn TakeHome (MATH) Challenge
takes place in November. In this competition,
students work in teams of two or three solving a set of ten challenging
mathematics problems. Teams complete at their home institutions. Hope has won
this competition several times.

The official
Putnam Competition site and an
archive of recent Putnam exams and solutions. This is a national competition among individuals
in pure mathematics that takes place in early December.

The Mathematical
Contest in Modeling is sponsored by COMAP, the
Consortium for Mathematics and its Applications. This is a national, team competition
in applied mathematics in late January.

The Interdisciplinary
Contest in Modeling is also sponsored by COMAP.
This is a national, team competition in applied mathematics in which teams
consist of members from mathematics as well as other disciplines. It takes place in February.

The Lower Michigan Mathematics Challenge takes place in April at a different college somewhere in
Michigan each year. In this competition,
students work in teams of two or three solving a set of ten challenging
mathematics problems. Hope has taken home the coveted Klein Bottle Trophy many times over the years.
